Not technically a pine, the 'Norfolk pine' is actually a subtropical plant native to the South Pacific. It is sometimes used as a Christmas tree, decorated with ornaments, but can be kept year round as a houseplant. In warm seasons, this plant could grow outside (away from direct sun) and you'll find that it reaches quite high!
