Tradescantia 'Spiderwort'

Tradescantia zebrina 'Spiderwort'

Common names: Wandering Dude, Spiderwort

Tradescantia zebrina is striking with its deep purple leaves rimmed in a silvery-green. An easy-to-care-for houseplant, Zebrina is lovely trailing down from a hanging planter or across a long table. It will appreciate humidity, so feel free to mist regularly, use a humidifier, or find a home for it near a sink or shower. Zebrina can tolerate less sun, but brighter (indirect light) will encourage a deeper vibrancy in its colorful leaves.

Light: Medium

Water: Frequent

Ease: Easy Breezy

Pet Friendly: No

Care: If your Tradescantia is getting leggy (leaves closest to the root ball are falling off) you can trim back the edges of the stems to encourage a fuller appearance.
