Aporocactus flagelliformis 'Dog tail cactus'

Cactus are a varied grouping of plants that range from columnar to stout and spherical to twisted, and with plenty of variation in between. Native to arid regions, cactus have evolved to expect lots of light and very little water. Cacti are also, generally, very easy to care for and want to be left alone so they are an excellent option for a forgetful plant caretaker! Native to Mexico and Central America, this cactus grows trailing legs that can get up to 4 feet long making it an excellent plant for a hanging basket or shelf space. It's a fast grower, with legs growing up to a foot a year in good growing conditions. Take care of this beautiful plant, and it may reward you with pinkish-red blossoms in the spring.
