Tillandsia 'Air plant'
Tillandsia's are an amazing family of plants! Most frequently found clinging to trees, they absorb their nutrients through their bodies and do not have a root system. They do not want to sit in soil or stay wet, but being native to tropical regions do appreciate extra humidity. Air plant care is really simple - give them a bath in room temperature water for about 15 minutes once or twice a week (depending on how much light and heat they're getting) and then let them dry completely before setting them back on their decorative perch!
We love to sit our air plants inside of decorative vases, ceramic snakes, and on hanging shelves. You can get creative with these low maintenance plants and they will enliven your home!
